Our flight landed into Venice so we stayed there for about 3 days. When we got into our hotel, we bathed in our excitement for a while then went to get some PIZZA! The pizza was cold by the time we got back to our apartment but still very good. Did you know that Italian pizza is the OG version of New York pizza ( for the adults reading this, OG means original)? The reason that I say Italian pizza is the OG version of NYC pizza is because the Italian immigrants came over to New York and and brought their pizza over and incorporated it into the New York culture.
Anyways, the next couple days we just walked around Venice and explored the shops, ate pizza
and pasta, and had gelato. All of Venice is pretty cool: the water streets, food, and the masks were my favorite part of Venice. Unlike the shops in Morocco and Senegal, Italy has a lot of mini glass animals and decorations instead of carpets, fish 🐠, and sun glasses.
After our time in Venice, we went to the city of Reggio Emilia, which is a city close to where Parmesan was invented! It has little to no tourists, unlike Venice. I really like it in this town, it is peacefully quiet, chilly, and welcoming.
Our plan is to stay three weeks here! I will write another blog post in a week or so for the people that are reading. Also FYI this place has AWSOME Parmesan cheese if you ever plan on coming.
