Senegal

This time we are at Senegal! It started with a 4hr plane ride and lugging our bags through the streets to get to the surf camp we were staying at! The surf camp is on an island that is about the size of Coconut Point.

We had to take a boat there (only a 5min ride) to the island. Once we were there, we walked through the streets until we got to the surf camp. At the surf camp there is a pool, lodging, and a little tiki hut. We walked through all that to get to our room were we hung out for a little and then explored the island. The island has a couple places to eat, food stalls, 3 beaches, and an abundance of stray cats and dogs. After that we got dinner and then went to sleep.

The next day we took a surf lesson. It was super fun! To do the surf lessons you travel to all different kinds of beaches depending on your skill. And the surf camp provides a freshly made breakfast and dinner.          (what about the lunch people?! Where is the lunch! Lunchism is what you are seeing right here which is the discrimination of lunch). Most of the days at the surf camp we just had the chill beachside life!

After the surf camp we went to the mainland and stayed in this nice place on a goat poop street. Here we mostly just hang out and explore town. That leads us to right now in my hard, strenuous, disappointing, injustice-filled white male life. That’s all for now folks.

Casa Blanca (again)

This time in Casa Blanca it was a little more fun! One of the fun days in Casa was a Friday. On that Friday, we went to an awesome mall/movie theatre! In the morning, I woke up, played basketball, read, and then we made our way to the movie theatre. Once we were there, we looked at the options of movies and chose Top Gun Maverick. The movie was awesome, and the whole time I was eating gummy worms. Once the movie ended, we made our way to the mall.

At the mall, we went to a fancy restaurant and I got pizza and tea. I ate the whole pizza! While we were eating our meal, there was a water show coming from a fountain in the middle
of a mini pond. What was even cooler was that it was tuned into the beat of the music. Once we made our way back to our apartment we had olives, blue cheese and bread! That was our appetizer. For dinner, we had a roasted chicken with this amazing rice stuffed in the middle!

One of the other cool days was when I got to go to a pro soccer game! I also got a super cool jersey! For soccer fans you might know the teams already but one of the teams was RAJA.

That was my time in Morocco. Tomorrow morning we are going to fly to Senegal and stay at an awesome surf camp! Next post will be in the surf camp! πŸ„‍♂️

Casablanca

It turns out that we are not settling in. Our Workaway decided that we should move to the Casablanca school, which is another city in the vast country of Morocco. We drove there a few nights ago and got barbecue at 11:30 pm. Then we arrived at our hotel at around midnight. The city of Casablanca, which is basically the New York of Morocco, is pretty cool though the taxi drivers overcharge by a lot.

We also found a basketball court! Surprising, right?! There is also a huge square with basketball courts, tennis courts, a stadium, and a field for hangin out! It is basically a Moroccan version of Central Park except for the fact that thou shall never replace the all mighty Central Park!

There is also a lot of stray animals in Casablanca, so why not talk about those. Yes, those cute, fuzzy, fury, cuddly cats and dogs! Anyways there is a lot of stray animals in Morocco in general.

On to the food! The food there is decent enough. There is a lot of sardines and fish🐠 . Of course it’s the fish (I swear those thing are going to take over the world one day—just warning you). There is also a lot of bread πŸ₯– not the bread you saw in that emoji but more of an odd shaped loaf with seeds on it (watch out because seeds will team up with fish when they take over the world and they will make a dictatorship where you have to eat seeds with everything). Doesn’t sound good, right? So do not—at all costs—eat seeds. Okay πŸ‘Œ.

Back to the stuff that is happening now, we have mixed plans where we are going next but it’s either a surf camp in Senegal or we are going to Spain. Thank you commenters, and I will keep you updated.

El Jadida

We got out of Marakesh and drove to the town of El Jadida.
El Jadida is a coastal town with a lot of beaches and markets. In the town we went to a Workaway where (you work for them and they give you housing and they feed you) the Workaway that we volunteered at was where you teach English to English learners.

While we were at the Workaway, we taught some classes and in our free time explored the market. In the market, there was a lot of good street food ( fish, vegetables, rice, and bread ). We walk the pier a lot, and one day, we found an awesome basketball court! The kids there were really nice, and we played a lot of basketball though the rim was at a very slanted angle and the backboard was broken, but it was still fun! We also got a very nice lunch and got an amazing smoothie! We’re settling in for the stay. πŸ‘
